TCP was attracted to GBS because of the outstanding reputation the Company had developed during its 25+ years of operations, along with its long-standing relationships with some of the premier furniture and mattress dealers in the United States. The GBS Sellers were looking to take some chips off the table and partner with an investment group that had a history of creating significant value for their retained equity stake like TCP.
As a part of the acquisition, TCP partnered with an incoming CEO who had years of successful experience managing middle market entities, including within the warranty sector where TCP has grown GBS significantly. TCP later augmented the management team with an experienced CFO who also had expertise in designing software systems in the financial services industry. TCP also worked closely with the GBS management team to create an industry leading furniture warranty software system that continues to receive rave reviews from our expanding customer base.
After closing, TCP also helped the Company secure intellectual property to provide a barrier to entry around certain healthy sleep products. TCP has also worked with the management team to expand its lines of products to include a number of new healthy sleep products including a line of new Ultratech pillows and blankets.
